Born in Hilltop Tacoma, Washington, at the age of 7 Tropicanna and his family moved to Fort Worth, Texas in search of a better life. This is where Tropicanna would be influenced by that down South flow and rhythm while maintaining his West coast lingo in his lyrics.
Growing up Tropicanna was always surrounded by music. Whether it be his mother or his grandmother, putting him on to 80’s/90’s R&B hits, listening to underground hip hop with his uncle, Dru B Shinin and not to mention being the grand nephew of Perry Kibble, the keyboardist/ song writer for the legnedary, A Taste of Honey.
Some of Tropicanna’s older influences include Biggie, KRS One, Tupac, Eminem, DMX and Outkast, while some of his newer influences are Drake, Maxo Kream, Griselda, 03 Greedo, and Drakeo The ruler. You can hear it in his smooth southern flow laced up w/ that west coast lingo.
By the Age of 11 Tropicanna’s uncle, Dru B Shinin, noticed his ear for good music and love for Hip Hop and pushed him to start recording. By the age of 16 Tropicanna adopted the name, he says because of the amount of respect he had earned from his peers saying that that they would always tell him that “he had the juice”, but Tropicanna also uses “The Juice” as a metaphor describing his diverse range of flavors to offer.
It was later in 2020 that Tropicanna met up with Prod.Four.Cash, where the to have been paving there own lane in hip hop.
